Becoming Her Becky Barley

OUR STORY

BECOMING HER WAS NEVER JUST ABOUT HEALING

Becoming Her began long before it had a name.

When I was 19, I lost my younger brother, Will. It changed the direction of my life and began a fascination with what happens to us when life changes us – how we survive, adapt and become someone we never expected to be.

That curiosity eventually led me to train as a Person-Centred Counsellor. For years, I sat opposite women navigating grief, relationships, identity and change.

But a counselling room can hold one woman at a time. A chapter can reach thousands.

I began to realise that the questions being explored behind closed doors belonged in the wider world too: Who am I now? What has shaped me? And who might I become from here?

Then came motherhood, and my own experience of looking at a life I had wanted while wondering where I had gone within it.

Years later, I found the language for what I had experienced again and again: liminality. The threshold between who we have been and who we are becoming.

Becoming Her grew from there.

Today, it brings together everything I have learned personally and professionally – psychology, nervous-system understanding, coaching, energy work and long-form conversation – to create a place where women can better understand themselves and consciously consider what comes next.

Because every woman is always becoming.

What We Believe

Understanding changes what becomes possible.

Curiosity creates space where judgement closes it.

We are shaped by the world within us and the world around us.

We are always becoming.
